25 savile row-2

25 Savile Row

London

As the site of Derwent London’s head-quarters, the redesign of 25 Savile Row presented a unique opportunity. They desired an office which both suited their spatial requirements and reflected their company ethos. To fulfil this brief, architects Piercy & Company worked closely with Derwent London. The outcome is a space defined by simple forms and natural materials. Celebrating a simple, subtle and unobtrusive beauty.
The L-shaped building is spread over three floors. The offices include a dedicated street level entrance, reception and exhibition area, meeting rooms, break-out spaces, open plan offices, terraces and dining areas. The Winter Garden, formed by a glazed extension to the rear of the building, and external terraces provide communal spaces connected to the outdoors.  SCP Contracts worked with Derwent London to specify a variety of furniture for a number of different spaces in the building.

The focal point of the project is the suspended sculptural staircase, framed by a three story atrium. Open to every floor, this central furnished space is filled with natural light, inviting social interaction between different departments.
Underpinned by an acute attention to detail, the collaborative approach between architect and client encompassed all aspects of the design. Spanning from architectural adaptations to furniture specification and finishing elements such as door handles, handrails and lighting.
