SCP Contracts is proud to have worked on Selfridges’ most significant investment in a decade – a 25,000-square-foot members’-club-style destination designed by Nice Projects in collaboration with Selfridges’ in-house teams, with creative direction in the communal spaces by The Future Perfect. Blending retail, hospitality and culture, the project creates a layered and immersive experience centred around exploration, discovery and beautiful design.
Conceived as “a collector’s home” – a space designed to inspire and celebrate beautiful things – the project reimagines the traditional members’ club as something lighter, more eclectic and full of personality. Across 24 private shopping suites, retail is woven together with social interaction, cultural programming, and food and drink destinations, alongside an event area, gallery, beauty studios and concierge services.
In the classic suites, materials such as burl veneers, terrazzo floors and painterly rugs reinterpret the old codes of luxury in a fresh way, paired with iconic pieces by Charlotte Perriand, Eileen Gray, Jean Prouvé and Gio Ponti. The more contemporary suites introduce cork, brushed stainless steel and brightly coloured wool carpets, alongside furniture from designers and brands including Philippe Malouin for SCP, De Sede, Frama and Massproductions.
Throughout the communal spaces, yellow onyx acts as a signature material tying the interiors together, while eclectic furniture groupings combine classic Italian and Swedish brands such as Tacchini, Arflex, Marta Sala and Källemo with commissioned works by Floris Wubben, Piet Hein Eek, Paul Coenen, Louise Roe and Studio Elementaire, alongside rugs by Christopher Farr.
We are immensely proud to have handled the procurement and delivery of over 50 different brands for the suites and rooms and remain in partnership with Selfridges to allow their clients to purchase any of the furniture and lighting. A space where almost everything is for sale.
