Harvey Nichols

Birmingham

The Harvey Nichols concept store in the Birmingham Mailbox is designed by specialist interiors practice Virgile + Partners. SCP Contracts worked with them to supply furniture throughout the store.
Heralded as a blueprint for all future Harvey Nichols stores, the brilliantly considered design just won Retail Week Interior Award for Best Department Store of the Year 2015.
Virgile + Partners aim “was to create a contemporary and imaginative boutique environment, moving away from a department store approach, revitalising and bringing to the surface the intrinsic values of the brand: style, daring in delivery, creativity and wit.” Their approach, which included specifying some very bold choices of contemporary furniture and was guided by the idea of creating “controlled disruption” throughout the store, has been widely acclaimed.
Products were specially chosen for areas such as the Restaurant, the Private Dining area, Dressings rooms, the Personal Shopping area, the Bar and Wine Shop and for all of the different departments and communal area across the store.
