SCP Contracts supplied the Domus stacking chair for the restaurant at the Paul Hamlyn Hall, Royal Opera House, London. Designed in 1946 by the Finnish designer Ilmari Tapiovaara for the Domus Academica, a student housing facility in Helsinki, for which he also designed the Domus lounge chair.
The restaurant and bar were designed by B3 Designers and features an innovative mobile 13.5 metre long champagne bar that dominates the hall. Mark Bithrey, founder of B3, describes the bar as ‘jewel-like’, saying “Our aim is to provide theatregoers with a truly unique experience at one of the most prestigious performance venues in the world”.
