Whitfield 45 Derwent London, Reception.

45 Whitfield

London, UK

45 Whitfield Street is a contemporary, fully electric building showcasing cutting-edge technology and innovative features that promote occupant well-being.

The Derwent London in-house design team has transformed this 1970s office building, creating 10,557 sq ft of flexible workspace. Located in the vibrant Fitzrovia district, the meticulous refurbishment, undertaken in partnership with architects dMFK, has revitalised the materiality, identity, and street presence that had been diminished by previous historic interventions.

dMFK’s architectural design has improved connections across and between each floor, activated the ground level to create a clearly defined, inviting entrance, and transformed the basement into state-of-the-art end-of-trip facilities.

The 1970s interior takes inspiration from the building’s original features of that era. The lozenge-shaped precast concrete panels on the facade have influenced the design of newly constructed curved timber entrance doors and frontage.

The ground floor features a renovated foyer, complemented by adjacent areas that serve as work and communal spaces. These areas are adorned with comfortable seating and coffee tables to create a welcoming environment.

The upper floors seamlessly incorporate collaborative workspaces and booths, in addition to more conventional meeting rooms, to cater to the modern requirements of the office.
